“The Nightingale” is a book about a young French lady during WWII. She became part of the Resistance and assisted downed Allied pilots to escape Nazi-occupied France across the Pyrenees’s Mountains into Spain. This historical fiction book was published in 2015 and is based on true events. There is movie set to be released in January 2019.
After crossing the Pyrenee’s today, in the daylight, not in hiding or distress of being found out, I have an immense respect for this young woman. If you have the time to read, please do…. it is a book that is sure to make an impact in your understanding of life during that time.
