Dave and Sarah Walk the Camino

To our family and friends (or friends of friends),

After years of talking about walking the Camino de Santiago (The Way of St. James)…we are actually going to do it.  With Dave currently “unemployed” (his Mom’s assessment) after 35 years of corporate life and with Sarah’s active RN status to treat potential blisters and muscle strains…we decided there was no better time.

For background on the Camino….check out Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camino_de_Santiago .  For a much longer narrative, check out the film starring Martin Sheen – “The Way”. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1441912/

This blog is our attempt to keep in touch with folks over the next couple months and to capture some memories.  We will be taking the most traditional pilgrimage route – the “Camino Frances” – that begins in southwest France and crosses west across northern Spain.  500 miles in 34 days.  We will start the walk on April 11th and finish on May 13th.  If you find the blog interesting, let us know and give us some suggestions for other posts.  If you find it less than interesting…totally understandable.

All our best from the road…Sarah and Dave

    1. Thanks, Emmanuel. But I must disagree today. I ran the Rome Marathon today (with Peter and Maiko). With a warm day and cobblestones, I finished in under 5…but my pace made me feel like TWD!
